A two-ounce silver coin inspired by Antonio Canova’s The Three Graces, one of the best-known works of European Neoclassical sculpture.
Issued in 2020 with a limited mintage of 999 pieces, the coin presents the sculpture from the front and back across its two sides.
High relief, a marble-effect finish, and dark Black Proof fields give the design the presence of a small sculptural object.

歴史的背景
Antonio Canova’s The Three Graces depicts Euphrosyne, Aglaia, and Thalia, the three daughters of Zeus in Greek mythology.
Canova created two marble versions of the composition.
The second version was commissioned by the 6th Duke of Bedford in 1815 and completed in Rome in 1817.
It is now jointly owned by the Victoria and Albert Museum and the National Galleries of Scotland.
The three figures are closely joined through their poses, interlaced arms, gazes, and shared drapery.
Canova’s sculpture was designed to be appreciated from multiple viewpoints. This quality is reflected in the coin, which presents the group from different sides across its obverse and reverse.

ウプロシュネ、アグライア、タレイアを表した作品です。
カノーヴァは、この構図による大理石彫刻を二点制作しました。
後に制作された第2版は、1815年に第6代ベッドフォード公爵の依頼を受け、1817年にローマで完成しました。
現在はロンドンのヴィクトリア＆アルバート博物館とスコットランド国立美術館が共同所有しています。
三人の人物は、互いの姿勢、絡み合う腕、視線、そして一枚の布によって緊密に結びつけられています。
